Did Darwin Kill God?

Conor Cunningham, who believes in that Darwin's theory of evolution does not require absence of a creator, interviews with believers and evolutionists who are called as ultra-Darwinists (?) by him. He mentions theory of meme and Richard Dawkins' "Selfish Gene" in some parts of the program, however he never meets Dawkins, even though he speaks with Dan Dennett. Actually I see Cunningham's reason very well! Broadcasted on 31 Mar 2009, BBC 2.

Daniel C. Dennett - Kinds Of Minds: Toward An Understanding Of Consciousness (Audiobook)

In Consciousness Explained, Daniel Dennett embarks on the audacious task of explaining human consciousness. He sets his sights even higher for Kinds of Minds, attempting to provide a more general explanation of consciousness. But don't be put off: the book is short, easy to read, and makes a good introduction to Dennett's richly interdisciplinary oeuvre. While beginners will appreciate Dennett's appeals to intuitive moral considerations to emphasize the importance of investigating consciousness, there is much in the book to hold the attention of readers already familiar with his previous work. Daniel C. Dennett - Darwin's Dangerous Idea: Evolution and the Meanings of Life

"A surpassingly brilliant book" - Richard Dawkins

One of the best descriptions of the nature and implications of Darwinian evolution ever written, it is firmly based in biological information and appropriately extrapolated to possible applications to engineering and cultural evolution. Dennett's analyses of the objections to evolutionary theory are unsurpassed. Extremely lucid, wonderfully written, and scientifically and philosophically impeccable. Highest Recommendation!

Daniel C. Dennett - Breaking the Spell: Religion as a Natural Phenomenon

In his characteristically provocative fashion, Dennett, author ofDarwin's Dangerous Idea and director of the Center for Cognitive Studies at Tufts University, calls for a scientific, rational examination of religion that will lead us to understand what purpose religion serves in our culture. Much like E.O. Wilson (In Search of Nature), Robert Wright (The Moral Animal), and Richard Dawkins (The Selfish Gene), Dennett explores religion as a cultural phenomenon governed by the processes of evolution and natural selection. Religion survives because it has some kind of beneficial role in human life, yet Dennett argues that it has also played a maleficent role. He elegantly pleads for religions to engage in empirical self-examination to protect future generations from the ignorance so often fostered by religion hiding behind doctrinal smoke screens. Because Dennett offers a tentative proposal for exploring religion as a natural phenomenon, his book is sometimes plagued by generalizations that leave us wanting more ("Only when we can frame a comprehensive view of the many aspects of religion can we formulate defensible policies for how to respond to religions in the future"). Although much of the ground he covers has already been well trod, he clearly throws down a gauntlet to religion. Publishers Weekly

Daniel C. Dennett - Consciousness Explained

"One of the ten best books of the year" New York Times

"How unfair for one man to blessed with such a torrent of stimulating thoughts. Stimulating is an understatement. Every chapter unleashes so many startling new ideas that in the hands of an ordinary philosopher it would - and probably will - be spun out to fill a whole book." Richard Dawkins, Author of The Blind Watchmaker and The Selfish Gene

A long and detailed book by Daniel C. Dennett one of the greatphilosophers of our time. Dennett creates alternative models for understanding consciousness and puts forth a new theory of mind. As well as a good introduction to consciousness, this book will deconstruct everything you know about consciousness. Hard to read but worth for it.

P.S. The book is converted from JPEG to PDF. That is the reason for a huge file.

The Mind's I: Fantasies and Reflections on Self & Soul - Daniel C. Dennett & Douglas R. Hofstadter

The Mind's I edited by Douglas R. Hofstadter and Daniel C. Dennett is a collection of essential writings on cognitive philosophy and consciousness. A bunch of renowned contributors try to answer these questions: "who am I?", "what is the self?", "what is the mind?". It was a nice discover for me to encounter with Richard Dawkins' article, "Selfish Genes and Selfish Memes" inside this book.
